HN 网友原话：probably the best documentary I have seen on conspiracy theories.
Dan Olson's 76-minute essay on flat earth belief, built around a hike to a lake to test earth's curvature. It examines the community, how YouTube promoted it, and how it connects to wider conspiracy thinking and QAnon.
HN treats it as the definitive, compassionate documentary on why people fall into conspiracy theories.

this video is invaluable
Dan Olson ("Folding Ideas") demonstrates this experiment in the video[1] I recommended in an earlier post[2].
It's dead because flat earthers have moved on to QAnon [1].
Recommended long, but very insightful video
